In one of the wonder tales preserved in the Westcar Papyrus, a magician creates a small crocodile from wax. When it is placed in water, the tiny model becomes a living crocodile and helps reveal a secret wrongdoing. The story reflects the ancient Egyptian fascination with magic, justice, and the extraordinary powers of skilled magicians.
