Adaptation:
A short, child-friendly retelling of the traditional Vietnamese folktale Cây Khế.
It preserves the central elements of the inheritance, starfruit tree, giant bird,
island of treasure, modest younger brother, and greedy older brother. The traditional
ending is softened for a children's accessibility collection: the older brother loses
his treasure but survives and learns from his greed.
